Lionel Silva started his career in the Tea Industry before making the transition to the Paper Industry. He has over three decades experience and proved excellence.
He has been the past president of the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Past Vice President and thereafter president to the Sri Lanka – Canada Business Council.
He enjoys spending his free time with his wife Sherline, daughter Lidi and his dog Skylar.

Having started as a one man operation, Lidechsi Pvt. Ltd has grown exponentially in the past three decades, and is proud to be a global group of companies today.The company has bases in many parts of the world including Canada, Bangladesh, India, Dubai and Malaysia.
Established in 1986, Lidechsi were able to offer a range of paper products in Sri Lanka and across the globe.
Lidechsi started with news print and gradually moved into packaging. Within a decade of establishment, the company was positioned as one of the market leaders in Sri Lanka. This is a testament to the quality of products and service.

We service most of the government and private sector needs in Sri Lanka, including for the Government Printer, State Printing Corporation, Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited, all other newspaper publishers, all printers, corrugators, paper sack manufacturers, converters as well as paper traders.
Our portfolio also includes top printers and publishers in India and the Far East.
Associate Companies
The rapid growth of the company led to the company expanding and opening subsidiaries. LIDECHSI PVT LTD continued looking after the Sri Lankan business and functioning as a parent company, while other companies were born for other functions.
The first expansion of the company led to the birth of LIDECHSI INTERNATIONAL PVT LTD. Since inception, the company has had overseas trading with offices in Dubai, Bangalore-India and Dhaka-Bangladesh.
LIDECHSI CLEARING AND FORWARDING PVT LTD was thereafter started to service customers, giving them a complete package. This includes sourcing and selling products, providing a one stop shop solution. Once the customer imports the products, it will be cleared from the wharf and delivered to the source. This helps increase the customers confidence and has been a catalyst to the growth of the company.
In 2016, LPL KESARA LANKA PVT LTD was started. This business soon took wings and now includes servicing government clients and publishers who require newsprint and writing paper.
